Er Cha (translated: children's tea) = Catechu provides the right acacia
Links richtige Akazie, rechts falsche. Bild links: Botanischer Garten der Universität Zürich
Real acacias, i.e. the ones with the yellow flowers in the picture on the left, are rarely seen in this country and by May they have long since faded. The false acacia is much more common on the edges of forests. We commonly call the tree with the white flowers acacia, but this is botanically incorrect, it is actually called robinia.
In Asia, where the robinia grows, the flowers are cooked in many different ways, a simple recipe is the following:
Rührei mit ‚Akazienblüten‘ (korrekt: Robinienblüten)

Resin called catechu is extracted from the wood of the real acacia tree and is also used in TCM and Ayurveda.
It is used externally for oozing wounds but also for mucosal ulceration of the oral cavity and gums.
We offer Catechu as a powder under the number 6680. It can be used alone or in combination with remedies such as Ru Xiang (frankincense), Mo Yao (myrrh), Bing Pian (borneol) externally or with Jin Yin Hua (lonicera), Lian Qiao (forsythia) and Huang Bai (phellodendron) for problems of the oral cavity.
