Cholesterol is a must, but lowering bad LDL cholesterol can save lives.

A friendly couple in their thirties visited my practice decades ago. The man complained of restrosternal pain. Strange at that age. Nevertheless, in view of the typical symptoms, angina pectoris had to be considered, even a myocardial infarction. I recommended immediate clarification at the hospital, wanted to call an ambulance, but they didn't want to. The wife took him there. The two of them sat on a bench outside the hospital for a moment. The man died there. I'm still sorry today that this happened.

Cholesterol is a substance that the body produces itself and is essential for life. Among other things, it produces hormones such as oestrogen and testosterone and also has a positive effect on the vitamin D balance.

Both obese and lean people can have unfavourable cholesterol levels. Genetic factors are mainly responsible for determining whether a person is at risk. Perhaps Fat Freddy is healthier than his stoner mates Freewheelin' Franklin and Phineas Freak.

To assess the risk of cardiovascular complications, it is useful to take a medical history and ask whether there are any cases of premature death due to heart attack or stroke in a patient's immediate family.

A TCM doctor has been treating patients with an unfavourable cholesterol profile for years with the following formula of three mushroom extracts and dandelion:

Recipe No. 22197 Mushroom & Taraxacum Combination / San Gu Pu Gong Tang:

  • Maitake (Wu Rong) 25%
  • Shiitake (Dong Gu) 25%
  • Auricularia judae (Mu Er) 25%
  • Taraxaci, Herba (Pu Gong Ying) 25%

Dosage: 2x2-3 grams daily

She reports that the LDL values can be lowered in this way. She documented the success with regularly collected laboratory values. It would be nice if there were a study that not only showed that TCM can lower the nasty LDL, but also that it could prove that fewer deaths are recorded, because we should not be satisfied with laboratory cosmetics.

Drug therapy of pathological lipid parameters, whether chemical or natural, or a combination of both with physical activity, including both muscle and endurance training, is supported.

Let's wait for the big sponsor to fund a conclusive study with the hoped-for endpoint of 'fewer deaths'.

In the meantime: We would be very pleased to receive your feedback, i.e. for the time being laboratory data in connection with the use of this formulation, with information on values before and during and possibly after discontinuation of the formulation and possibly other accompanying measures, conventional medication in combination...
